In a continuing effort to effectively deal with junk e-mail ('spam') we will be phasing in a new policy regarding the number of recipients to which a single outgoing message may be sent. The current maximum number of recipients for a single message is 100.
Effective June 7th we will reduce the max to 75 recipients, then on on June 14th it will be reduced again to a max of 50 recipients and finally on June 21st it will be reduced to a maximum of no more than 25 recipients per message.
The limit of 25 recipients per message is already and has been for some time a widely used standard among Internet providers. Please note that you can still send a message to more than 25 recipients as long as you don't send it to more than 25 at a time.
For example, if you want to send a message to 50 people you can use your mail program to create 2 e-mail distribution lists consisting of 25 addresses each. Then send the message once to each of the two lists (a total of 2 'send' operations).
The vast majority of users should not find this to be a major inconvenience but it will help to improve the overall performance and reliability of the spamcatcher features in our e-mail system.
